I live in downtown Ottawa, right in the middle of the trucker convoy protest. They are literally camped out below my bedroom window. My new neighbours moved in on Friday and they seem determined to stay. I have read a lot about what my new neighbours are supposedly like, mostly from reporters and columnists who write from distant vantage points somewhere in the media heartland of Canada. Apparently the people who inhabit the patch of asphalt next to my bedroom are white supremacists, racists, hatemongers, pseudo-Trumpian grifters, and even QAnon-style nutters. I have a perfect view down Kent Street – the absolute ground zero of the convoy. In the morning, I see some protesters emerge from their trucks to stretch their legs, but mostly throughout the day they remain in their cabs honking their horns. At night I see small groups huddled in quiet conversations in their new found companionship. There is no honking at night. What I haven’t noticed, not even once, are reporters from any of Canada’s news agencies walking among the trucks to find out who these people are. So last night, I decided to do just that – I introduced myself to my new neighbours.

At 10pm I started my walk along – and in – Kent Street. I felt nervous. Would these people shout at me? My clothes, my demeanour, even the way I walk screamed that I’m an outsider. All the trucks were aglow in the late evening mist, idling to maintain warmth, but all with ominously dark interiors. Standing in the middle of the convoy, I felt completely alone as though these giant monsters weren’t piloted by people but were instead autonomous transformer robots from some science fiction universe that had gone into recharging mode for the night. As I moved along I started to notice smatterings of people grouped together between the cabs sharing cigarettes or enjoying light laughs. I kept quiet and moved on. Nearby, I spotted a heavy duty pickup truck, and seeing the silhouette of a person in the driver’s seat, I waved. A young man, probably in his mid 20s, rolled down the window, said hello and I introduced myself. His girlfriend was reclined against the passenger side door with a pillow to prop her up as she watched a movie on her phone. I could easily tell it’s been an uncomfortable few nights. I asked how they felt and I told them I lived across the street. Immediate surprise washed over the young man’s face. He said, “You must hate us. But no one honks past 6pm!” That’s true. As someone who lives right on top of the convoy, there is no noise at night. I said, “No, I don’t hate anyone, but I wanted to find out about you.” The two were from Sudbury Ontario, having arrived on Friday with the bulk of the truckers. I ask what they hoped to achieve, and what they wanted. The young woman in the passenger seat moved forward, excited to share. They said that they didn’t want a country that forced people to get medical treatments such as vaccines. There was no hint of conspiracy theories in their conversation with me, not a hint of racist overtones or hateful demagoguery. I didn’t ask them if they had taken the vaccine, but they were adamant that they were not anti-vaxers.
The next man I ran into was standing in front of the big trucks at the head of the intersection. Past middle age and slightly rotund, he had a face that suggests a lifetime of working outdoors. I introduced myself and he told me he was from Cochrane, Ontario. He also proudly pointed out that he was the block captain who helped maintain order. I thought, oh no, he might be the one person keeping a lid on things; is it all that precarious? I delicately asked how hard his job was to keep the peace but I quickly learned that’s not really what he did. He organized the garbage collection among the cabs, put together snow removal crews to shovel the sidewalks and clear the snow that accumulates on the road. He even has a salting crew for the sidewalks. He proudly bellowed in an irrepressible laugh “We’re taking care of the roads and sidewalks better than the city.” I waved goodbye and continued to the next block.
My next encounter was with a man dressed in dark blue shop-floor coveralls. A wiry man of upper middle age, he seemed taciturn and stood a bit separated from the small crowd that formed behind his cab for a late night smoke. He hailed from the Annapolis Valley, Nova Scotia. He owned his own rig, but he only drove truck occasionally, his main job being a self-employed heavy duty mechanic. He closed his shop to drive to Ottawa, because he said, “I don’t want my new granddaughter to live in a country that would strip the livelihood from someone for not getting vaccinated.” He introduced me to the group beside us. A younger crowd, I can remember their bearded faces, from Athabasca, Alberta, and Swift Current Saskatchewan. The weather had warmed, and it began to rain slightly, but they too were excited to tell me why they came to Ottawa. They felt that they needed to stand up to a government that doesn’t understand what their lives are like. To be honest, I don’t know what their lives are like either – a group of young men who work outside all day with tools that they don’t even own. Vaccine mandates are a bridge too far for them. But again, not a hint of anti-vax conspiracy theories or deranged ideology.
I made my way back through the trucks, my next stop leading me to a man of East Indian descent in conversation with a young man from Sylvan Lake, Alberta. They told me how they were following the news of O’Toole’s departure from the Conservative leadership and that they didn’t like how in government so much power has pooled into so few hands.
The rain began to get harder; I moved quickly through the intersection to the next block. This time I waved at a driver in one of the big rigs. Through the rain it was hard to see him, but he introduced himself, an older man, he had driven up from New Brunswick to lend his support. Just behind him some young men from Gaspésie, Quebec introduced themselves to me in their best English. At that time people started to notice me – this man from Ottawa who lives across the street – just having honest conversations with the convoy. Many felt a deep sense of abuse by a powerful government and that no one thinks they matter.
Behind the crowd from Gaspésie sat a stretch van, the kind you often see associated with industrial cleaners. I could see the shadow of a man leaning out from the back as he placed a small charcoal BBQ on the sidewalk next to his vehicle. He introduced himself and told me he was from one of the reservations on Manitoulin Island. Here I was in conversation with an Indigenous man who was fiercely proud to be part of the convoy. He showed me his medicine wheel and he pointed to its colours, red, black, white, and yellow. He said there is a message of healing in there for all the human races, that we can come together because we are all human. He said, “If you ever find yourself on Manitoulin Island, come to my reserve, I would love to show you my community.” I realized that I was witnessing something profound; I don’t know how to fully express it.
As the night wore on and the rain turned to snow, those conversations repeated themselves. The man from Newfoundland with his bullmastiff, a young couple from British Columbia, the group from Winnipeg that together form what they call “Manitoba Corner ” all of them with similar stories. At Manitoba Corner a boisterous heavily tattooed man spoke to me from the cab of his dually pickup truck – a man who had a look that would have fit right in on the set of some motorcycle movie – pointed out that there are no symbols of hate in the convoy. He said, “Yes there was some clown with a Nazi flag on the weekend, and we don’t know where he’s from, but I’ll tell you what, if we see anyone with a Nazi flag or a Confederate flag, we’ll kick his fucking teeth in. No one’s a Nazi here.” Manitoba Corner all gave a shout out to that.
As I finally made my way back home, after talking to dozens of truckers into the night, I realized I met someone from every province except PEI. They all have a deep love for this country. They believe in it. They believe in Canadians. These are the people that Canada relies on to build its infrastructure, deliver its goods, and fill the ranks of its military in times of war. The overwhelming concern they have is that the vaccine mandates are creating an untouchable class of Canadians. They didn’t make high-falutin arguments from Plato’s Republic, Locke’s treatises, or Bagehot’s interpretation of Westminster parliamentary systems. Instead, they see their government willing to push a class of people outside the boundaries of society, deny them a livelihood, and deny them full membership in the most welcoming country in the world; and they said enough. Last night I learned my new neighbours are not a monstrous faceless occupying mob. They are our moral conscience reminding us – with every blow of their horns – what we should have never forgotten: We are not a country that makes an untouchable class out of our citizens.
Bravo – well done. And this is how it should be, face to face and civil conversations. Not somebody writing an uninformed screed from their basement, from their own echo chamber and never having spoken to a single soul on the ground, demonizing people they have never met and safe behind the virtual anonymity of their keyboard.

Thank you David for the truth! We hear so much trash from the main stream media but a huge many of us are seeing through them. Keep up what you are doing. More than many good people in Canada, we just need to get through to them what is happening right under our noses. You rock!
Terame Manahan
How refreshing it is to have someone who is willing to find out the truth firsthand, and not take someone else’s word for it. Thanks for your honesty and transparency!
Please please please send this to every newspaper out there for them to publish!
Thanks for the good, honest read
I was there the first weekend and it was so incredible to be there. So glad to read of your first hand connections with the truckers. They give me such hope for Canada. Thanks for doing this and sharing it.
Thank you! This melts my heart! There is hope! 😊🥲🇨🇦🙏🏼💞
I’ve never read your blog before, David and was impressed by how genuine it is … real. It is good to read something from someone who is living the experience, albeit caused by the circumstance of proximity. I read the last bits with tears in my eyes. Thank you for speaking the truth and from your heart.
Phyllis
Thank you for this reflection, David. A whole new perspective on the convoy.
Thank you David for sharing your walk about! from Sylvan Lake, Alberta.
This is a touching story. One that reflects most Canadians. Thank you
Thank you David. Your article reveals why my grandparents fled tyranny and moved to Canada in 1924. FREEDOM! Cheers to you again from Surrey, BC.
Michael Neustaedter
Very moving, very poignant. I was moved to tears and wish every Canadian would read this. Thank you!
Thank you from a Canadian ❣️🇨🇦
God bless you David. This was beautiful and I sobbed the whole time. I have spent the last two weekends in Ottawa from Toronto and have only witnessed the most beautiful expressions of humanity. Thank you for speaking with these wonderful people of conviction – our conscience as you so perfectly put it – and sharing about your new neighbours ❤️
Thank you sir for the TRUTH .. may God bless you and keep you and your loved ones safe from all the BS we as Canadians are being served .
I am of the opinion that you captured the essence of what drives the Convoy’s members to stand up. Thank you.
A very powerful account of what is really going on; thank you David. The Sun, Citizen, Post newspapers could do with a person as yourself, honest and unbiased.
Your beautiful article is the first thing I read this morning.
It will brighten my day.
Thank you from Kelowna BC
Way to be a light in so much darkness!! Thank you for being open-minded and venturing in the middle of it all to find out for yourself what’s really happening…and thank you so so much for sharing your experience with the world💕🇨🇦
I wish I was there to experience it all for myself.
I hope the people getting paid to be journalists will read your blog and realize they are missing the story.
This is the real story that isn’t getting reported. Good job!
David
Thank you for your insight to the convoy and their heart and soul for freedom of this country and the world stand fast.
Keep the faith .Remember God is in control He will never leave you nor forsake you. God bless
Thank you for writing the truths of this peaceful protest about basic human rights!
Simply THANK YOU! for saying it how it is.
Thank you! This was a beautiful read.
David beautifully done! Thank you for the journey you take us on through the city. I live in Michigan USA. I am so proud of the Canadian truckers and others for having the courage and stamina to accomplish this. I see now Ottawa has declared state of emergency ??? I hope the US is next, no country has the right to mandate vaccines! I will continue to pray for all of us that are under cease by these tyrannical governments we find ourselves living under. It’s up to us to take our countries back! Thank you for enlightening us and giving us insight into the truckers …God bless them! ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Wonderful article – real life experience with these truckers. That’s what I believe in – instead of the biased media reports. These Canadians are standing for the rest of the world and have inspired all of us!
Thank-you David for taking the time to go and talk to the truck drivers that are fighting for our freedom of choice this is something are premier should be doing but is not .Thanks for doing his job.
Loved reading about your experience. You took the time to observe and really get to know the people and give us a glimpse of the inside, not what the media is showing. Thankyou
Thank you David for putting this display of canadian hospitality out there to share with the world. A very refreshing and honest observation we wouldn’t witness too without your simple visitation. As we all know the media lacks the integrity and honesty to tell this truth. God bless everyone!
This is so refreshing, thank you. The mainstream media has so badly failed to be objective on this matter.
Thank you, I was feeling very discouraged today but you have given me hope that our world will not become a “Brave New World”
David I am truly thankful to have had an opportunity to read this. I have read a couple of your other articles and found your thoughts to be very helpful in understanding the situation we are in. I only wish I could meet you in person to express my gratitude. You have a gift for writing and your knowledge and introspective style was very engaging. Thank you from one proud Canadian to another. All the best.
Now do the citizens of Ottawa, and then the healthcare workers of the whole country.
A great article of honest observation. A trait no longer presented by our media. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you David and God bless! This is one of the most unbiased and honest reports written to date. Thank you for not only taking the time and interest to find out the truth but thank you for reporting it in such genuine sentiments! I assume you are willing for this to be re-posted far and wide as there are many people in many countries that hear a different version and need to hear the truth. A version that comes from reporters very distanced from ground zero and with NO boots on the ground whatever. Again ….. from the bottom of my heart ….. thank you …. a sound that I’m sure will be echoing from “sea to shining sea”! Blessings…..Lynda
Dear David!
Thank you for your open heart and mind….you brought tears to my eyes! Tears for loss of freedom, for all the lies government and media is feeding us but most of all for the suffering due to lack of knowledge of our Bill of Rights! We should have NEVER allowed this global tyranny!
God bless you Truckers and God bless you David!!!
Thank you!
A very thoughtful and well-crafted piece. Always good to hear what the other side is thinking and you have presented it engagingly and courageously. They have made their point, though, and like a bad house guest have overstayed their welcome. Time to go home and let people get on with their lives; you won’t win many friends this way.
Hello, thanks for your remarks.
You are doing the reporting that should be done on this issue; instead quite frankly most of the legacy media have turned into anti-trucker protest-propagandists. There really is no other word for it.
I too went down to see what the fuss was about. I didn’t see any racists, white supremacists, extremists, etc. I saw someone involved in the protest with a truck emblazoned with `every child matters’ messages, I doubt if that particular person was a white supremacist. I also saw a young woman with an dyed hair, a rainbow flag with a couple of kids standing gawking at the truckers. I am unsure if this person was there to support the protests, though I rather think she was there to observe. When I was there, no one approached, no one hassled her, no one did anything to her, all of the white supremacists and right-wing extremists around…
And the thing about these words of support: I don’t even agree with the truckers’ demands. I don’t agree with getting rid of vaccine passports; and I certainly believe in the vaccines; and they have no mandate to demand the resignation of Trudeau nor anyone else.
I do in addition think the truckers should leave now. They have made their point and there really is no point in them staying. I think their staying only will end up with someone getting hurt: and probably someone in the truckers’ camp, as occurred when someone apparently attempted to ram four protestors at the Winnipeg demo.
Yet, I can tell propaganda demonization when I see it, and the news `coverage’ of this protest has it in spades: from the `defacing’ of the Terry Fox statue by placing a sign on it; from the alleged incident at the soup kitchen when two truckers `demanded’ a meal (the soup kitchen is at least a mile away from the protest site, and how does anyone know the truckers didn’t need a meal?); from the `suggestions’ that the truckers are actually controlled by Vladimir Putin or (even worse!) by U.S. groups (though numerous direct action protests against the oil sands and BC logging have received American support); and on and on…
Point Counter Point:
Lost in this frenzy, is the fate of the innocent – the children, the elderly, the immunocompromised. Vaccinating the masses, protects them.
Without knowing ‘exactly what’s in it’, almost everyone on the planet, still alive, has taken a vaccine of some kind, at some point in time. Maybe it was for childhood diseases like mumps or measles, or to protect you when travelling, against a disease, still prevalent in the land of your destination. You want to live, to travel and have fun without worrying about catching a disease. What gives you more freedom than a vaccine?
So, it’s not really about freedom at all, is it? Is it just about the fight?
Mass vaccination campaigns have eradicated smallpox and have freed the world of the scourge of polio. A Covid-19 vaccine mandate is an immunization attempt to control Covid-19 and its evolving variants. Think about the greater good, for millions, for decades to come, from this one, little, moment in time.
With worldwide Covid deaths surging beyond six-million (over eight thousand daily average), it is time to accept the fact that this vaccine saves lives. It’s that simple.
More than the freedom to protest, this is the freedom the world is dying for.
Good points, however, I have 3 family members fully immunized and all 3 had covid.
Just so you know polio isn’t gone…it can be in well water. The fact that Covid mutates so quickly is a good indication that the “vaccine” isn’t going to stop it. Even when vaccinated you can spread Covid and catch Covid. None of the lock downs and restrictions have done anything, except destroy small businesses while big box stores flourished. They kept people alive from a virus, and killed others through suicide, and overdoses. Destroyed the mental health of almost every Canadian. But hey Pat yourself on the back for getting vaccinated. By the way I am also vaccinated…not to be self righteous, but to make sure doctors and hospitals are available to the really sick that need it.
I think to a point you are right but when you look at the mortality rate of people under 80 years of age, the percent of deaths drastically goes down, and that’s including immune compromised people. Scientist from the past years have tried to use vaccinations against coronavirus diseases but we have found that they actually don’t do much because these viruses live with us every day. We all need to remember that this isn’t something we need to fear. You don’t need to wear a mask everywhere because we have had worse viruses and diseases in our lives but if you look around our population is still growing and most of us are still here. There is just no need to be afraid of covid at all.
Children have next to no risk. Why vaccinate a child with next to zero risk when the risk of the vaccine is likely higher than the risk of the disease…and even worse the long term risk is unknown.
Those at increased risk should take the vaccine, but people should have a choice regarding their own health.
The whole point is not vax or not…it is FREEDOM. Millions have died to attain this simple privilege that should be understood for all humans. Yet, the world over it is not.
Thanks for this. I am immune comprised and also a caregiver to an elderly parent and my husband’s mother. I am triple vaccinated for this reason and so are the elderly parents. My mother in law did get Covid and because she was vaccinated she did not die and her symptoms were that of a cold. She is not well so we thank god for the vaccine. I also know personally many Ottawa Paramedics and they have been stationed downtown and they have complained about the loud noise, continuous noise, the diesel smell and the headaches they received from it. In one instance an ambulance on a call could not even get to their call despite the lights and sirens. I totally agree restrictions need to be lessened. Everyone is fed up but, for me, the message to remove restrictions are now secondary to the harm that can be done by this blockade of trucks. It is time to move the trucks. You want to protest use your feet and march on parliament hill with signs that are quiet.
Have you been paying attention, doesn’t matter if you are vaccinated or not, you can still catch and transmit the virus. This protest isn’t an anti vaccine protest, it’s an anti mandate protest. Get off the msm and do some reading about what is really happening
I don’t disagree with you. I turn this around to each and every politician, from both sides of the aisle, who made this pandemic political rather than a health issue.
They created the distrust. Had this been handled differently, from Trump, Biden, state Governors, and everyone else, we would be in a completely different place today.
Yes, well said. With freedom also comes responsibility. We cannot hav3 absolute freedoms. We do not have the freedom to cause harm to others. Being unvaccinated doesn’t only affect you, it can also affect others. Others who may become very sick, may need to be hospitalized, which also causes delays to the treatment of people suffering from other health issues, like cancer. Getting vaccinated means being a caring citizen, it means stepping up to do your part to keep your fellow Canadians safe.
Please read A Pound of Flesh Nearest the Heart. The issue here centres on positive externalities and effect size matters. And in addition, as Ronald Coase taught us in The Problem of Social Cost – externalities are bilateral.
They aren’t protesting vaccines though? Half of them are vaccinated, all the Americans would have to be just to cross the border. From what I’ve read and heard from the truckers, they are protesting mandates and restrictions.
I am shocked at how much our gov’t and “main” news sources are lying . It’s disgusting
My Son cannot get any vaccine, he was diagnosed with immune deficiency when he was 2 by a team of immunologists at Montreal sick kids hospital.
when they say there are exemptions, I tried to get one for my now 17 year old son and no one can write him one! Is this about health? So he is ostracized by these mandates and has been locked away for the last 2 years, is this about his health? He can’t go anywhere school, restaurants, movies, not even church because of these mandates for vaccine passports and this is not his fault!! I am overcome by emotion because these truckers are fighting for my son and they don’t even know him…..
This article tells the truth to what’s happening downtown Ottawa!!
Thanks so much Dave!!
I am a scientist (molecular genetics), have a good understanding of how these vaccines work, am vaccinated and very pro vaccine. But I completely understand why and how there are people who don’t trust this vaccine and do not want to get it. If this small number of people who aren’t vaccinated and don’t want to be, I don’t understand why we are still trying to make them. The virus is evolving, but in a way that makes the vaccine barely effective, boosters effect short lived and thus could be never ending. Though rare, there are side effects. At this point I don’t see any good possible from these mandates.
100%
Please read A Pound of Flesh Nearest the Heart. The issue here centres on positive externalities and effect size matters. And in addition, as Ronald Coase taught us in The Problem of Social Cost – externalities are bilateral.
“Lost in this frenzy, is the fate of the innocent – the children, the elderly, the immunocompromised. Vaccinating the masses, protects them.” This only applies to our tradition vaccines when immunity is actually achieved through natural infection or vaccination. These vaccines are only able to protect the vaccinated from severe illness, and only temporarily slow transmission for a short time after inoculation. Those most vulnerable need to be protected by continuing to wear masks, keep distance and those that are symptomatic need to stay home.
These vaccines were hoped to do more, but they have not lived up to their expectations.
God bless ALL of you truckers.
Shalom from California
Thanks Dave. I enjoyed your walk through the Freedom Convoy in Ottawa. It is to bad that we as Western Canadians couldn’t have enjoyed that opportunity to chat with the good people giving up their time and money to present exactly what the majority of Canadians want and expect. I just listened to an interview from a CTV journalist/news woman interviewing a young man Jeff Goudry from Vernon. It didn’t last 10 seconds and the interview turned into a one sided attack on Mr. Goudry and the Convoy. It wasn’t meant to be an interview but rather a slaughter on the good folks from everywhere in Canada. Mr. Goudry kept his cool and attempted to answer her but her rudeness didn’t allow it. If that is journalism she failed with a D-. Nice to see your view. Thanks for your honesty.
Wow! This is a phenomenal read. Thank you David for having the courage and sense to go and speak to these men and women and get their side of the sorry rather than reading what the media puts out.
I’m a proud Canadian and more so now because of you. Thank you!
Thank you for your honest opinions on what you seen and heard on your walk through your community. It takes a brave person to stand up and tell the truth. I thank you for setting the record straight on what convoy participants are doing rather than what the MSM says they are doing to make their political masters happy. David your truthful comments mean the world to all those who are part of the convoy and the majority of Canadians who support OUR mutual fight for freedom.
A deep bow, from my heart David, for writing this beautiful piece. This gathering of people in peaceful unity, holds the potential to bring so many more to remembering we were all born as free and sovereign Beings, and THAT very essence is Ours. May unity exponentially increase unity. Thank you Truckers and people of Canada for leading the world back to our True Nature. We needed this🙏🏻.
Has the data scientist ever considered that the people he’s talking to might lie to him about their true beliefs?
From someone with a great many friends and neighbours in the convoy, nope. This is highly representative of the participants. I happen to know the tattoed Manitoban he mentions. He’s my adopted brother.
Are you for real? What possible reason would there be for every one of them to lie to an average Joe walking around and interacting with them? For fuck sakes, give your head a shake man.
Thank you so much for your word that allows us who are unable to attend in-person to feel what it is like to be there. I have been watching from Manitoba and so wish I could be there.
I’m glad for your being open to go speak with the truckers and to write about what you found. At the same time I’m puzzled how anyone would not know this about them already – That they are just regular people standing up to tyranny. Too many people are still listening to the so-called MSM, thinking they are telling the truth. Many many alternative news sites exist which are not beholden to large corporations or owned by big government.
The truth is is out there. People just have to read a bit.
I’ve been watching this intently, hoping the truckers and those that are feeding them can hold out long enough that the truth will break through to the masses and bring down the tyrannical government.
I was born in and live in the United States and am also hoping this spirit of resistance will spread.
Right on, Ken
Thank me and say a prayer for me . I got vaccinated and boosted so my children and grandchildren and the rest of the country can get back to normal sooner rather than later.
What have you done?
This, for starters:
https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.07.08.20149039v4
So where we are now is the worst case scenario under section 6. With omicron there is a much higher level of asymptomatic cases
Have you distributed copies of this paper to the protesters?
Give it up Paul. Re-read his post and if you still don’t understand, move on.
Thank you David for a very heartfelt piece, so eloquently written.
May you have Peace, Love, Health and Happiness.
Thanks for your hardwork. !
good work!
I survived the Delta variant with next to no symptoms. Why should I be forced to get a “vaccine” that is proven not to stop this virus ? Why am I not allowed to go out to eat with my friends ? When did being forced to get unneeded “vaccines” become the new freedom of choice ? A healthy immune system should come out on top ever time.
I and my wife and our two youngest children are vaccinated. I have one adult son who lives here with me refuses to be vaccinated. We followed the rules and everyone who came to visit we’re vaccinated and our visitors had around 450 test and tested themselves before they visit, and again when they returned. They tested neg before coming and pos when they returned. We all caught COVID even my unvaccinated son. He had the least symptoms and faired 100 times better than us vaccinated. The great rapid test that’s only 4% accurate.
Your great leader contracted COVID and he has all his shots, so my question to you is, the vaccines doesn’t prevent COVID. Your still extremely contagious whether your vaccinated or not. So who are you protecting.
That’s what I done.
I think you missed the point of the article.
Most of us have gotten the vaccine however we don’t feel it has worked since nothing has changed. We also believe that everyone should have the right to make a decision whether or not they want the vaccine without fear of persecution or job loss. Ultimately if you believe in the vaccine I’m proud of you most of us are losing faith in it since it has not stopped your ability to get Covid or transmit Covid. Ultimately we are simply asking for the right to choose whether or not to get the vaccine without fear of persecution
David. THANK YOU. You really cut through all the dialectic, posturing and protecting my ground B.S. It’s allowing people a voice and to be valued. You said it well. I don’t want a Canada that doesn’t look after and respect those that keep the wheels turning. Now, gonna turn on Steve Earle’s – I’m Just A Regular Guy, sit back and listen – in your honor. Again, thank you for your voice. Milt Acorn would have loved you.
Father you know this man’s heart…to provide for and protect his family..I ask you to pour your love onto him..let him experience you.
I speak truth to you.
I speak health to you sir.
I speak Prosperity to you.
I speak Peace to your heart.
Thankyou Father that fear is far from him. In Jesus name
I got 2 pfizer vacines and a pfizer booster, as soon as I could because first and for most I value my own life and the lives of my family and my friends. Second , I want to help stop this virus in its tracks before it mutates to a virus that spreads faster than omicron and more deadly than delta. Please people wake up and do the rite thing , get vacinated!
These vacines have been proven to be 95 % effectve with very very few side effects. 1 in a million with side effects. The risk of not getting vacinated, far far outways getting vacinated.
Thank you and the others we are in this mess
As an essential worker I worked through shutdowns when there were more unknowns than knowns. I didnt cry. I didnt protest. I sucked it up and did my job. We didnt have vaccines, preventatives, what we had were videos of people dropping dead in the street in China, and videos of dead bodies over flowing in hallways. (which never materialized ANYWHERE else in the world. Strange, eh?)
We made life go round for the world during times of utmost uncertainty.
I made it through just fine. I dont need a vaccine mandate. You want the vax? Good for you. Dont force me into medical treatment I dont want, dont need, isnt effective, and has no long term data.
Thank you for your thoughtfully written words. I am a mother of a 2 and 5 year old and fear for them to grow up as an “untouchable”. If I am iced out of society, so are they. Somehow Canadians have lost that sense of humanness where we don’t push other people down. Where we see the value in every person. We cannot move forward as a two tier society, that will be the biggest mistake.
Angela, government not the people have created this so called two tier society! !!They want us to turn our backs on the unvaccinated -I say no way. I will do my part, but if we continue to be afraid and become numb to this situation, we are already dead as a society.
Not sure I see how vaccines are creating a two-tiered society. Everyone has ample
Access to free vaccines. Some are choosing to set themselves apart. All Choices have consequences no matter the reasons for making those choices.
Thanks so much for reporting on such “salt of the earth” Canadians who are trying to make an honest living while often being maligned by elites of our society.
Outstanding commentary. I’m sincerely happy that you have found out the truth of these wonderful canadian protesters. I wish the MSM were so interested.
